Yes featuring ARW, Live at the Apollo

I am pleased to share that Yes featuring Anderson, Rabin, and Wakeman (ARW), Live at the Apollo finally has a release date, September 7, 2018.

The recorded live event is available in various formats,  highlighted with an opaque orange vinyl 3 LP edition. The orange vinyl edition is limited to 3,500 units.

I was fortunate to see Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, and Rick Wakeman ARW, An Evening of Yes Music & More on October 21, 2016, at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, CT. They were grand together as Yes is Jon Anderson on vocals!

Santana & McLaughlin – Invitation To Illumination, Live At Montreux

I am psyched to report that the Santana &  McLaughlin, Invitation To Illumination, Live At Montreux 2011 concert will soon be available on DVD. The release date for this video product is August 18, 2013.

This was an historic and spiritual collaboration from two guitarists who deeply respect each other. Their 40+ year friendship has yielded spectacular recorded music that bathes the soul in illuminated light.

The evening was a showcase of supreme musical virtuosity and spirituality and typified the approach of these two great artists. It is certainly a performance not to be missed.

Here is a YouTube video of the selection, “A Life Divine” from their classic 1973 album, Love, Devotion and Surrender to whet your appetite until the full DVD is available.

This recording also features the late Claude Nobs, founder of the Montreux Jazz Festival, playing harmonica on the final track.

I always hoped that the Live At Montreux DVD series from Eagle Rock Entertainment would get around to releasing this special concert. Rest assured I am ordering this item as this was a concert I wanted to travel to Montreux, Switzerland attend.

The Year of The Doors Starts Today

2102, The Year of The Doors is upon us. The 40th Anniversary of L.A. Woman is being celebrated in high fashion today, January 9th. The World Premiere of the first completely new and unreleased track by The Doors in 40 years, “She Smells So Nice” can be heard on Sound Cloud here.

This unique gem was found by co-producer Bruce Botnick when he was reviewing the L.A. Woman session tapes for the upcoming reissue.

The Doors L.A. Woman 40th Anniversary merchandise will start shipping on or about January 20th, 2012.

There will be a two CD re-issue of the original album, remastered, with an extra disc of bonus material. Disc two has previously unreleased alternate versions of songs featured on the original album along with studio chatter by the band from the recording sessions. Liner notes written by David Fricke, Sr. Editor of Rolling Stone magazine, and original album producer Bruce Botnick.

There will also be a DVD, Mr. Mojo Risin’: The Story of L.A. Woman. Eagle Rock Entertainment has created this documentary detailing how The Doors created their last studio album. Mr Mojo Risin’ goes into detail of how the album came about, its recording and what was happening to the band at the time. The story is told through new interviews with the three surviving Doors: Ray Manzarek, Robbie Krieger and John Densmore plus contributions from Jac Holzman, founder of their label, Elektra Records, Bill Siddons, their manager, Bruce Botnick, engineer and co-producer of the album and others associated with the Doors at this time. The show includes archive footage of the Doors performing both live and in the studio, classic photographs and new musical demonstrations from the Doors.
