John Mayer Leverages Social Networking

John Mayer is on the mend and will be announcing this week his Born & Raised Tour 2013 plans. John Mayer, his technical management team are collaborating with Billboard.Biz to hosting a Google+ Hangout with invited fans on Thursday March 21st.

I teach technology priding myself incorporating the latest software engineering advancements when I use the InterWeb. My compliments to the John Mayer team and Billboard for structuring an intelligent qualification survey form for this event. A direct benefit of the invitation to this event with John Mayer and Don Was is that it will sharpen your Google+ Profile for precision and accuracy.

John Mayer is on the comeback trail. He’s endured and overcome painful lessons of late, some of which were self-inflicted, others were due to his health. I’m pleased to report that John Mayer is resuming his live performances with a renewed sense of vigor.

My first sign that John Mayer was back was his appearance segment on the CBS Sunday Morning February 10th broadcast. That insightful segment piqued my interest in what John Mayer is doing next.

I hope I qualify to be invited to the John Mayer Google+ Hangout this could be historic.

Spotify Apps

Spotify continues to lead and innovate the music-streaming experience. I am very impressed by Spotify’s Phase II strategy.

Daniel Ek, Spotify CEO states, “We’ve arrived at a crucial moment when we have both scale and momentum, and we’re getting people used to the idea again that music is worth paying for.”

The next phase of Spotify is Spotify Apps. App Finder is a dashboard that lets us lean back and sift through results of music trends in the form of rich playlists. Prominent music publications, services and blogs like Rolling Stone Magazine, Billboard,, and Pitchfork supply interpretive analytic data to us in digestible, usable form.

I especially like how nimble the HTML 5 Apps are for my use. They are definitely designed with future interactions in mind. Spotify understands the intelligence and sophistication of its hard-core subscribers. Spotify is acting as the conduit to further the relationship between rich music information sources and the ever attentive listening public.

Patti Smith billboard and catalogue

I was stoked to see this billboard while driving to work last week on Interstate 95 in West Haven, Ct. It awakened me from the dull stupor of my morning commute. I had no clue that Patti Smith and Wadsworth Atheneum had collaborated to present the first exhibition of her photography  in the United States right here in Hartford.

Now in addition to plans to attend the exhibit opening and book signing I have procured a copy of  the Patti Smith, Camera Solo catalogue. This title was published in conjunction with the exhibition. I ordered it from the Wadsworth Atheneum  Shop online. They ship quickly. 😉

The catalogue has a Director’s Foreword from Susan Lubowsky Talbott. There is also an intimate ten page interview with Patti Smith that Susan conducted on July 12, 2011. The interview illuminates Patti Smith’s role as a photographer. We gain valuable insight into the artistic discipline that complements Patti Smith’s prolific abilities as singer, songwriter, musician, and author.

I like the muse Patti Smith defines with her Polaroid Land 250 camera. We can’t wait to see the photographs as well as Patti in person very soon now.
