I was shopping for rock t-shirts today at Utopia in my old neighborhood in Norwalk, Ct. Scored a great Nirvana t, 😉 While I was there picked up a free copy of The Sound Magazine. The publication covers music and culture for Connecticut and New York. It was just what the doctor ordered for what has ailed me lately. I have tried to find one publication that lists concerts, events and festivals within a driveable radius from Milford, Ct. The Sound Magazine has this beat covered and then some, cool!
I started thumbing through the pages. I discovered two music festivals closeby. One is new the other I attended last year.
1. Soupstock, Fifth Annual Music + Arts Festival, Shelton Ct, Sat. June 21 & Sunday the 22nd
This is a new festival for me. I love soup :). I think I might attend on Sunday. Here is the festival program.
I want to taste some great food and hear the band Kung Fu, been digging what they have been putting down.
It will cost $5 a person to attend and all the proceeds go to a worthwhile cause. The Mary A. Schmecker Turtle Shell Fund.
2. Blues, Views & BBQ Festival, Westport, Ct., Sat. August 30th and Sun. August 31st
I loved last years blues festival. Wrote about that event here.
This year looks equally top notch.
Better Yet Connecticut!
