Monday, Monday – The Mamas & The Papas

Since last week’s blog posts centered on Why Pink Floyd? week, I have decided to do a week of posts about songs for the day of the week.

This started yesterday with a  post about Jethro Tull‘s track, “My Sunday Feeling”.

Today I am writing about “Monday, Monday” by The Mamas & The Papas. This song was released in  1966  written by John Phillips and recorded for their debut Dunhill album If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears. The album was produced by Lou Adler (founder and co-owner of Dunhill Records, a division of ABC Records) who became their manager. It was the group’s only number one hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.[1]
