Warren Haynes – Man In Motion

Warren Haynes is one of my favorite guitarists and singers. His latest record, Man in Motion rocks. It will drop on Tuesday May 10th. I ordered my copy yesterday and urge you to do the same 😉

You can hear it in full and for free right now on Rolling Stone’s Web site, http://goo.gl/q8eSK.

When it comes to soul music Stax Records has always been where it’s at. Warren is working with a great set of musicians on this recording, George Porter on bass, Ivan Neville on the organ, Ron Hollaway on sax, and Raymond Weber on the drums.

The album also haIan McLagan on piano and Ruthie Foster on background vocals.

I am a major fan of Warren Haynes, I appreciate his role as one of two lead guitarists in The Allman Brothers Band. I really dig his band Gov’t. Mule. He stepped in with The Dead in 2009 for their national tour and fit in perfectly. He’s so versatile and dynamic.

I have seen Warren perform live seven times. Once with the Allman Brothers Band. Five times with Gov’t. Mule. Once with Greg Allman at Salute to the Blues. Once with The Dead at the XL Center in Hartford.
